Best second guess after a wrong hair clue

A wrong hair clue should not trap you into chasing nearby colors. Your second guess should widen the board again by changing era, series cluster, and often eye color too. The goal is more information, not cosmetic correction.

Do not mirror the same profile

If your first guess missed on hair, avoid picking another character with the same year range and same genre just because the design feels familiar. That often wastes a turn by testing only one new tile.

Pivot on year or franchise first

The strongest recovery guess usually changes one big axis. Jump to a clearly newer or older year, or switch into a different franchise cluster with a more distinct clue profile. Hair should be the side effect, not the decision driver.

Use distinctive anchors

Good second guesses after a wrong hair clue are characters that still test broad roster information. Distinctive starters and high-value series anchors give you cleaner signal than another visually similar guess.
